Growing up in Lynchburg, Tennessee was a simple, country kind of living. Almost everyone had a farm and if you didn't, as a teenager you helped the ones who did. In a town where the population is the smallest in the state and your graduating classes are just under 50 people, time seemed to stand still for all who lived here. Yes, I moved away after graduation but after living in the second largest city in the state it was time to slow down. We decided to move back a few years ago. Things have changed a bit here since the 60's and 70's but some remain the same. What were once dirt or gravel roads are now paved. There aren't as many tobacco farms as there once were but we have plenty of corn and soy crops. Lynchburg Candle Co. uses only USA grown soy wax. We wanted to create a candle that reminded us of the simple times. So, when you purchase one of our candles made with USA grown soy wax, handpoured in a mason jar, and wrapped in a burlap linen pouch, we hope you are reminded of a much simpler time.
Lynchburg Candle Co. strives to only use products grown or made in the USA. Our candles are made in small batches from soy wax derived from 100% American grown soybeans. We use cotton braided wicks that are lead & zinc free, creating a clean, environmentally friendly burn. Our candles are always phthalate and dye free & made with premium fragrance oils. Apple Harvest and Wild Roses are our signature fragrances. In late summer and early fall the farmers here harvest their apples. There are plenty for pie making, relishes, preserves, apple butter, and of course apple bobbing at the fall festivals. Wild Roses reminds me of walking in the woods along the fence rows to smell the sweet fragrance of those small delicate roses. While these two fragrances are our signature scents we have several others available to choose from.
Here at Lynchburg Candle Co., we like to make a difference so we are donating to The Alzheimer's Foundation. With each Apple Harvest candle sold, a portion of the profits will be donated to The Alzheimer's Foundation. Within a span of a few months I lost my mother and two of her sisters to Dementia and Alzheimer's. We are donating to try to make a difference and hopefully one day find a cure.
